The children have visited Narnia

Wed, 02/11/2016 - 21:17

Our school library re-opened this week, after undergoing a magical transformation into the land of Narnia from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. All the children were invited to visit, and entered through a wardrobe of fur coats, into the forest - complete with snow, a lamppost, Aslan the Lion and Mr Tumnus's home.
The re-opening of the library coincides with the launch of our new reading scheme - Accelerated Reader is coming to Curledge Street! The programme has been designed to improve children's reading ability and comprehension while also encouraging a love of reading that will continue into adulthood. So far all children in years 5 and 6 have started on the scheme and we have now extended it into years 3 and 4.
