ELECTION OF PARENT MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL GOVERNING ADVISORY BODY
There is a vacancy for parent members of the Local Governing Advisory Body (LGAB) for the academies.
Parent LGAB members are vital to our LGAB and while they do not have an operational role in the day to day running of the school, they do share, with other LGAB members, responsibility for the performance of the academy. You do not have to be an expert on education to be a LGAB member, the experience that all members bring to the role is valued.
Parents/carers who have paid employment in the school for 500 hours per academic year or more or who are elected members of the Local Authority are not eligible to stand in these elections.
If you join the LGAB, you will serve for a three year term. Being a LGAB member does take up time. There are usually six LGAB meetings each year held at PCSA at 6pm. You will need to set aside time to be able to be an effective LGAB member i.e. reading a range of documents, preparing for meetings and undertaking training and monitoring the portfolio you have agreed to in all three academies.
If you are interested in seeing more or applying for this vacancy, please email: email@example.com requesting the full information and nomination pack by Thursday 12 October.
