More football success May 25th 2017.
The Year 4-5 football team having previously won the Torbay finals went on to the Devon County final and came a very creditable 3rd. Well done!!
Now the footabll season is over, it was time for tennis!!
Having already won in the Paignton final, it was on to the Torbay final which was held at Torquay Tennis Centre. We had two teams taking part and came 1st and 3rd which means that our A team will go on to the Devon final next half term. Well done to all the team, especially Alana who drafted in at the last minute and played superbly!!!!!
On Thursday 11th May, our years 3/4 boys, 5/6 girls and boy's teams all played in finals at Plainmoor, which was a fantastic achievement.
Having won their league against all the teams from Brixham and Paignton, the year 3/4 boys, captained by Reef Kirwen-Babb played their final match against the winners of the Torquay league,. Although they played brilliantly, they lost 3-1, but watch out for them next year!!!!
The year 5/6 girls, captained by Lauren Bullock, drew both their league and President's cup to bring back two cups to add to the won they recently won as Devon Champions. What a amazing achievement!!
Finally, the year 5/6 boy's team, led by Henry Munyago, won their league and were crowned Bewley Cup champions with a 2-0 victory over St. Margaret's. This was the first time that the school has won this trophy so they are to be congratulated.
A very well done to both, all those children who took part on finals night and to their coaches who have trained and supported throughout the year.
31st March 2017
Two more cup finals! Curledge Street Academy boys and girls team continued their fantastic seasons by progressing to the finals of the Bewley and Presidents Cup.
The boys, playing previously unbeaten Collaton St Mary, were fantastic in a 2-0 win. Neo gave Curledge the lead with a neat finish from an Ashton pass just before half time. In the second half Curledge began to dominate and it was captain and man of the match Henry who settled the game with a great run and finish. The boys will face St Margaret's in the Bewley Cup final and will also face Sherwell Valley in the league final.
For the girls, the season just gets better and better. An outstanding performance against Babbacombe culminated in a 6-1 victory. Lauren grabbed a hat-trick, Kaci scored two and Sienna scored the other. The girls will now face St Marychurch in the Presidents Cup final and Sherwell Valley in the league final.
This term, our sports teams have excelled in their competitions over a range of sports: football, netball, athletics, Futsal.
Our girls won 3-0 against Barton to complete their league campaign as champions.
Devon Champions! What an achievement!!! Our girls have been crowned Devon champions after a 2-1 victory in the final against Sherwell Valley. Lauren put the girls 1-0 up however Sherwell Valley equalised later in the game. In extra time it was Sienna who scored the winner that put Curledge Street Academy into the regional finals where they did fantastically well to come 3rd in the competition. A brilliant achievement - they should be very proud of themselves!!!!
League champions! A massive well done to the year 5 and 6 boys for winning their league for the first time in 7 years. A 0-0 draw with White Rock was enough to win the title after a man of the match performance from Sebi. The boys will now play at Plainmoor on finals night for a second time. Well done to all the boys!
League Champions! Our year 3 and 4 football team completed a hat-trick of league titles for the school after a 4-0 victory over St. Margaret Clitherow. Goals from Tommy, Tiger, Sam and Dylan gave Curledge Street the win that takes them to Plainmoor for football finals night. Well done to the team!!!
A huge well done to our netball team that won the Torbay Netball Shield. After beating Abbey School 12-3 in the semi final, they went even better in the final beating St Margaret's 14-4. Well done to all the team for more silverware to put on the shelf and to Mr Watkin for his expert coaching!
Our athletics team came in the Top 10 in the Devon County Athletics finals.
Finally, the year 4/5 girl's Futsal team are Torbay Futsal champions and County Futsal runners up.
A fantastic achievement by all players who have taken part in tournaments
