It was lovely to see so many children and staff dressing up as their favourite book character on Thursday and taking part in the many activities that were organised for World Book Day. Everyone was excited when they were trying to find Wally - they were looking for a photograph of him but, as there were so many staff and children dressing up as Wally, the little ones were confused as to which one they should look for.
There was a competition to guess the member of staff in the competition, 'Who's 'behind a book' - some were very difficult so no-one managed all of them!!!! Book fair tokens will presented to the winning entries for these competiitons in Monday's assembly.
Mrs Woodcock turned the library into a campsite and read each year group a letter to the children from 'J' and showed them some of the items that were found there; they now have to write about who they think 'J' is and what was he like and, more importantly, what has happened. We wait in anticipation to see what are their ideas or suggestions !!!
The Book Fair, which was held over four days, was well attended.and our thanks go out to everyone who came along and supported us by buying a book. We managed to sell books to the value of £624 which means that the school will be receive £300 to spend on new books for the library and classroom.
